Dr. Jay Koenen

“I come from a family of doctors of chiropractors, in fact all together we have over 100 years of experience in the chiropractic field of health. Growing up in this healthy environment it was a natural fit for me to become a chiropractor. I can remember being in my father’s chiropractic office and seeing patients crawl in the front door and after treatment, walking out! I was always taken back on the power of the human body and chiropractic care! I wanted to be able to treat the cause of peoples’ illnesses not just a symptoms. That is when I decided to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.”

Chiropractic Education

Dr. Koenen began his pre-chiropractic education at NIACC where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses. After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1997, Dr. Koenen practiced in Aosta, Italy until he established his current practice in Newton, Iowa in July 1999.

At Koenen Chiropractic we focus on what the “cause” of your condition or illness is because we feel if you find the cause of the problems and treat them the “symptoms” the body shows will stop!

On a personal note…
